MAIN PARAMETERS
Air ionizer OVION-S

1. GENERAL
1. Air ionizator OVION-S (hereinafter referred to as ionizator) is intended for cleaning the air from contamination with dust, bacteria and fungi and for enriching the air with negative aeroions.
2. The ionizator eliminates dust, pollen, fungi, viruses, insect strings, dandruff and fuzz of pets, tobacco smoke and unpleasant odors.
3. The ionizator contributes to treatment of respiratory diseases, chronic disorders of ear, nose and throat, it is very useful in cases of fatigue, disorder of metabolism and insomnia. Usage of the ionizator is essential to reduce the risk of respiratory and virus diseases.
4. When located close to sources of strong electromagnetic fields (working television sets, computer monitors) the ionizator 5 to 10 times reduces the voltage of positive charges of the fields radiated by them. It is recommended to place the ionizator 0.5 to 1 meter from the screen.
5. Already in one hour after the appliance has been on, it reduces two times the radiation of the air media formed by the radon fission products in the premises of 30-40 cum.
6. The small volume of ozone that is made up during the appliance operation does not do any harm to human health, but on the contrary, it does the same our mother nature is doing – due to ozone being a strong oxidizer the organic substances present in the air (their presence is shown by various odors) turn to environmentally clean components like carbonic acid, water vapor and oxygen. This is the natural air cleaning process.
7. The ionizator is indispensable in any premises where the people want to breathe fresh air and improve their health condition. Such premises can be residential, computer rooms, classrooms, hospital wards and doctors’ rooms, playing and sleeping rooms in kindergartens, and etc.

3. PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION OF THE IONIZATOR
1. The appliance consists of two parts: the base comprising the electronic power supply assembly and easily dismounting cassettes. The ionizing assembly and precipitation electrodes constituting the cleaning chamber are mounted inside the cassette.
2. The principle of activity is based on the corona discharge. The “ions wind” – the effluvium- created during the process ensures passage of the air through the cleaning chamber of the ionizator. Every second about 1,5 liters of air pass through the chamber.
3. The contaminating particles together with the air enter the cleaning chamber and on acquiring the electric charge stick to the precipitation electrodes. At the same time the air passing through the chamber is disinfected by the ozone that gets formed in the corona discharge zone.
4. The cleaned air with a small volume of ozone (4 to 5 times lower than the permitted volume and not presenting any health hazard) and enriched with “air vitamins” - negative aeroions is discharged into the environment bringing in the sense of freshness similar to that we might feel after lightening or being by the water falls.
4. OPERATION CONDITIONS
- The ionizator maybe used in the premises where the temperature range is +10 to 30 deg.C, and relative humidity does not exceed 80 per cent. In case the humidity is higher, the ionizator’s operations are less efficient.
- If the ionizator was transported in temperatures below zero, keep it for at least 2 hours in ambient temperature before turning it on.
- It is not recommended to place the ionizator closer than 1 meter to the regular working place.
- Slight corosion of the precipitation electrodes showing with prolonged operation does not have any influence on its technical characteristics.
5. The ionizator does not have any influence on magnetic data carriers (audio and video cassettes, computer floppy disks, magnet cards, etc.) However, it is recommended to keep pocket calculators at least 0,15 m away from the ionizator.
5. INSTRUCTIONS OF USAGE
- Take the ionizator cassette and the base from the carton.
- Fully insert the cassette into the inlet of the base.
- Install the ionizator in the selected place and connect it to the mains. The mains indicator LED must light on. If you listen attentively you should hear a slight hiss. And if you keep your hand close to the top part of the cassette, you will feel light wind. These are the signs that the ionizator is in operation.
- The duration of the ionizator’s operation is unlimited. However, if you hear bigger noise (hiss), that would mean the cassette is clogged and needs to be cleaned. As a rule it needs cleaning after 1 to 2 weeks of interrupted operation of the ionizator.
6. PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
- If the ionizator runs without stopping, its cassette needs cleaning every two weeks. How to do cleaning, see drawings 2, 3, 4 and 5:
1.1 disconnect the ionizator from the mains
1.2 take out the cassette from the base;
1.3 holding the cassette on its sides separate it and divide into two parts;
1.4 take out the ionization assembly;
1.5 carefully take out plastic mounted precipitation electrodes (plates) from the sides of the cassette;
1.6 using alcohol soaked gauze clean the ionization assembly, the inside of the cassette and precipitation electrodes. Outer surfaces maybe cleaned with damp cloth;
1.7 let all the parts of the chamber dry;
1.8 assemble the cassette paying attention the marks MAX and MIN on the plastic mounting of the plates. If you insert the plates with MIN on the top of the cassette, then the ionizator will operate in Mode 1 (maximum ionization), and if MAX is on top, then the ionizator will be operated in Mode II (maximum air cleaning).
- Please ensure that the angle between the spring plates of the ionization assembly is approx. 90 deg. (see drawing 6)
- General view of the ionizator
- - disconnect the ionizator from the mains
3. - take out the cassette from the base 4. - divide the cassette into two parts
5. - take out the ionization assembly
6. - carefully take out plastic mounted precipitation electrodes (plates) from the sides of the cassette;
